Gamelan

Gamelan refers to the traditional ensemble music of Indonesia, primarily from Java and Bali, built around interlocking melodic patterns performed on bronze gongs, metallophones, drums, bamboo flutes, and stringed instruments. Dating back centuries and deeply woven into ceremonial, theatrical, and communal life, gamelan operates on cyclical structures and layered rhythms that create a shimmering, hypnotic sonic texture.
