Emerging from the Netherlands and Germany in the early 1990s as artists pushed hardcore's boundaries past gabber's 150-200 BPM range, speedcore weaponizes distorted kickdrums into a percussive assault, layering abrasive noise, chaotic samples, and industrial textures into a sonic maelstrom that tests the limits of human rhythmic perception.
